Business & Leadership Workshops

 Program Overview:

Business & Leadership Workshops: 

Workshops and collaborative learning sessions focused on Business Management, Economics, Marketing, and Leadership Strategies taught by Valencia College adjuncts and external site visits to some points of interest in the Orlando/Kissimmee area. The purpose of the learning sessions and visits is to give participants an international exposure to best business practices and an in-depth look at thriving business models in our city. Certificates of completion will be given to each participant at the end of the program. 

Disney’s Techniques of Teamwork: 

This program will focus on teamwork and communication. It's all about individual accountability for the choices we make. This program will include a Disney Leader Guest Speaker, who will present strategies for developing and maintaining high-performance teams. This program will also include an exciting strategic challenge. 

1 Day – Single Park + Course Included 

Key Learning Points: 

• Understand the need for building a consensus as a team, and their individual responsibility to help achieve this
• Be able to articulate the value of encouraging and supporting individual strengths and talents on a team 
• Be able to share a comprehensive definition of what a team is 
• Understand some basic elements in their team's dynamic—including trust, support, and mutual concern
• Share their learnings from the Disney leader's conversation with them 
• Identify some key challenges their team faces now 
• Be able to articulate the advantages of effective strategic planning and a team member's responsibilities in creating and utilizing that plan 
• Develop a strategic plan to address one of their team's specific challenges 

Universal Studios- Leadership Skills & Personal Development:

1 Day – Park to Park Ticket + Course Included 

Leaders have the ability to influence others within an organization. In this experience, students are asked to take a good look at their own spheres of influence and assess the impact they may potentially make on others. They are provided tools they can use to positively influence their school or work environment and improve their personal people skills. 

 Key Learning Points: 

• Have the vision, communication skills, and management skills to influence and direct others.
  
• Manage your emotions and fears, and handle the negative behaviors of others in a positive way.
  
• Stay aware of your emotions and those of others to establish healthy work relationships.
  
• Recognize problems, consider options and make the best possible decision.
  
• Listen to understand and respond appropriately.
  Use the correct body language to communicate properly
  
• Maintain a healthy balance between work and life.
